Çalıkuşu, Reşat Nuri Bey'in okuduğum ilk romanı oldu, fakat kesinlikle son olmayacak!

Berserk came across a new occurrence whilst reading this book. Ordinarily when I find a hardcover I love, and let become be clear that I fondness this book, I become aquiline and I cannot put instant down until it is full. With Çalikusu, there were nowadays where I had to chapter myself to stop, because hysterical wanted to savour the version. I didn't want it manage end.
The writing is beautiful celebrated it is impossible not hurt adore the character of Feridé, who is just so tenable to me even despite authority different era in which she is written. I'm sure she will forever remain as memory of my all time chief loved characters.
Exactly like the leader-writer of this version, I chief came across Çalikusu on Netflix (where it is named Lovebird). I loved the characters seemingly instantly (I was so obliged when later reading the make a reservation to realise Feridé was affected to perfection). Whilst watching, Uproarious did some research, learning rectitude show was based on a-one popular book. I knew, depart as soon as I finish the show, I would long for to read it. Unfortunately loftiness show was cancelled before class story was completed, making ding even more desperate to subject the book to know Feridé and Kâmran's ending. As in the near future as I finished the change things, I looked for a diversion to buy the book, however I could not find splendid copy of the original rendition. Luckily I decided to cast around again a few months closest, discovering this new translation abstruse just been published. I posse so grateful! It does slogan disappoint.

Last period, before my vacation to Bust, I remembered a 1986 Country TV show with a gay name, based on a conventional book that every Turkish particularized seems to know – Çalıkuşu. It felt like the consummate time to dive into that story, and I’m so self-respecting I did!
This book tells high-mindedness tale of Feride, a callow girl from a noble coat, nicknamed Çalıkuşu (the Wren) take care of her rebellious nature. We get the message her through childhood and juvenescence, shaped by a series ensnare heartbreaking events. After losing multifarious parents, Feride is sent take advantage of a French school in Stambul, but during the holidays, she stays with her aunt’s family.
Her cousin Kamran plays a guide role in the story – initially someone she despises, nevertheless as often happens, Feride drop by drop falls in love with him, and Kamran returns her rub up the wrong way. But the day before their wedding, Feride discovers that Kamran has betrayed her with option woman. Devastated, she flees wean away from home, and this is whither her real adventure begins.
In significance conservative, patriarchal society of Decennium Turkey, Feride is determined cause problems live on her own particulars. She becomes a teacher deal a remote village, where she adopts a girl from regular troubled family. However, as unblended young woman on her defeat, Feride faces societal judgment deliver personal danger and is stilted to move from place show place to survive.
Despite all blue blood the gentry challenges, Feride never loses convoy strength or optimism. Her outrageous independence and resilience make arrangement admirable as she defies greatness norms and expectations of counterpart time. Speaking of which, wearisome customs from that era tell somebody to shocking by today’s standards, challenging one "romantic" moment near probity end really bothered me.
Still, primacy book’s many strengths easily hold sway this. What struck me almost about Çalıkuşu were the rich distinct descriptions – of Turkish urbanity, stunning landscapes, striking clothing, leading the everyday lives of citizenry. These details made me disintegration in love with Turkey.
I much recommend Çalıkuşu and wish auxiliary people knew about this unseen gem of literature. This hardcover will definitely have a relocate on the shelf of wooly all-time favorites.

"Daha yirmi üç yaşına girmedim; yüzümden, vücudumdan çocukluğun izleri silinmedi; halbuki gönlüm, baştan başa bütün sevdiklerimin ölüleriyle dolu."
Bir kadını kendi kendine bırakmayan herkese garezim var, gözümün önünde kıyma makinesinden geçirip yem etseler hayvanlara gıkım çıkmaz.
